Working as part of our Microbiology Division (MBD), within the Specialty Diagnostics Group, you’ll play an active part in helping us to achieve our mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. The Microbiology Division discovers microbiological solutions for the diagnosis of infectious disease and detection of bacterial contamination in industrial applications.
Summary
The Quality Assurance Apprentice works as part of the QA team at our MBD Basingstoke facility. Reporting to the QA Supervisor, the successful applicant will join the Quality Assurance department working closely with the QMS and Supplier Quality teams to support the implementation of the QMS and interact with internal and external customers regarding quality-related issues and queries.
Responsibilities
- Undertake QA responsibilities regarding supplier control, review, and performance
- Assist in training for Quality functions and ensuring relevant documentation is up-to-date
- Serve as documentation and training coordinator for MasterControl – Electronic Document Management system
- Maintaining supplier audit tracker
- Ensuring supplier quality complaints are properly investigated and corrective actions taken
- Building strong partnerships with the Quality and Sourcing teams as well as external customers
- Collaborating closely with suppliers regarding quality issues and queries
- Communicating in a proper and effective way with customers about change controls requiring customer notifications
- Tracking of supplier quality questionnaires, change agreements, and quality agreements
- Collaborate with team members in production and quality to build robust documentation to support audit readiness
- Performing other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
- Degree in microbiology/degree in a related field
- Experience in a QMS role preferably within MDD/IVD
- High attention to detail
- Ability to communicate openly
- Work flexibly to ensure targets are met
- Competent in the use of the MS Office suite
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve
- Ability to work independently and in a group setting
- Hands-on attitude to get things done with the ability to handle change to a successful conclusion
- High attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
