Intern – Research
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Immunology and Microbiology Department at Scripps Research is seeking an Intern to support in the laboratory of Dr. Voss. Interns receive occupational experience, closely supervised training and are able to develop their professional skills. Duties include basic laboratory maintenance, preparing packages for shipment, replenishing supplies and following experimental procedures assigned by laboratory staff.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Part-time: Flexible working hours and times. Initially, the job will require between 6-10 hours/week. 12-19 hours per week is possible after training and depending on lab requirements.
- This position is not eligible for benefits.
- This is a year-round position, not a summer intern or other short-term internship.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires current enrollment in high school or in a college/university educational program. Undergraduate enrolled in a relevant scientific program, e.g., biological or life science, strongly preferred.
COMPENSATION: $14.00 hourly.
This position works in a laboratory or vivarium environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.
