Job Description
General Responsibilities:
- Independently perform, evaluate, validate, and optimize multiplex PCR assays, real-time PCR instruments, and consumables.
- Perform DNA/RNA extraction, cell culture in BSL1 or 2 environments.
- Evaluate, test, and develop new assays, procedures, and methods.
- Collect and analyze data with good laboratory practices and draw scientific conclusions.
- Maintain quality control notebook, records, and documentation.
- Prepare weekly progress reports, and present data to colleagues and supervisors to aid in informed decision-making.
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or bio-engineering-related discipline.
- 1 – 5 years of hands-on experience with nucleic acid extraction/purification and designing assays for multiplex real-time PCR/RT-PCR.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Collaborative, resourceful, team-player attitude.
Additional Information:
The pay range for this role is $35 – $45 per hour, commensurate with experience.
