Postdoctoral Scientist Laboratory of Dr. Afrooz Rashnonejad, Center for Gene Therapy, The Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital
The primary focus of Rashnonejad lab is to develop AAV-based gene therapies for Charcot-Marie-Tooth type 1B (CMT1B) and Nemaline Myopathy. Our lab is in the Center for Gene Therapy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH). The NCH Center for Gene Therapy has a long track record of training leaders in gene therapy and has been the site of the development of the first FDA-approved AAV-mediated gene therapy for neuromuscular disease (SMA), and several other gene therapies have reached clinical trials.
