The Opportunity
Genentech is seeking a talented Computational Scientist to join our Immunology Discovery Department. In this role, you will focus on therapeutic discovery efforts and computational method development within the Autoimmune Disease Area Team. You will collaborate with a team of research scientists to understand the molecular mechanisms of diseases such as multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, and type 1 diabetes.
Who You Are
- PhD in bioinformatics, biostatistics, or a related field
- Experience in R and Python
- Expertise in computational techniques for analyzing genomic, transcriptomic, and/or proteomic datasets
- Desire to develop new computational approaches and models
- Excellent communication and data presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-throughput sequencing technologies
- Biological knowledge in immunology
- Relevant publication record of scientific articles or software packages
