Associate Research Scientist Position in Structural Biology – PhD Biochemistry Research Openings
The Mattos Lab in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Northeastern University seeks an enthusiastic Associate Research Scientist in the field of Structural Biology, with experience in protein X-ray crystallography. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to manage the daily operation of a research laboratory and perform basic or applied research in an area of considerable scope and complexity.

Minimum Qualifications
Must have a Ph.D., preferably with postdoctoral experience; progressively more responsible experience that demonstrates the ability to plan and execute research; previous supervisory experience.
Requirements – PhD Biochemistry Research Openings
- Ph.D in Biophyscis, Biochemistry or related area, with significant experience in protein X-ray crystallography research, including familiarity with X-ray data collection, data processing and structure solution.
- Experience with basic maintenance of X-ray equipment is a plus.
- Must be motivated to do research on critical and challenging problems involving basic molecular biology, protein expression, purification and use of a variety of effective protein crystallization strategies and structure solution protocols.
- In addition to doing research, analyzing results and contributing to publications, responsibilities will be to manage the general function and safety of the laboratory and its equipment, and purchasing administration for the laboratory.
- Assistance in training and mentorship of students is expected, as well as participation in funding efforts and conferences. The Associate Research Scientist will join a highly collaborative state-of-the-art structural biology laboratory and is expected to build strong collaborative relationships with members of the Mattos Lab team.
