Parsons PhD Job Vacancy Parsons is seeking a Biological Sciences Scientist to perform pre-clinical vaccine evaluation, vaccine antigen and delivery platform research, laboratory management and parasite culturing, structural biology consultation, and parasite culture consultation at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) in the Malaria Biologics Branch (MBB) located in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Minimum Education for Parsons PhD Job Vacancy: PhD in the biological sciences or equivalence in a related discipline.
Knowledge Base:
- Ability to produce recombinant proteins and particulate vaccines and characterize them by using biochemical and biophysical techniques. Familiarity with the use of mouse model and vectors and development of assays to measure vaccine immunogenicity in animal models.
- Knowledge and skills developing and conducting experiments in the area of molecular, biochemical, malaria parasitology or immunological assays. Technical skills and knowledge of molecular, biochemical, parasitological and immunological assays.
- Parsons PhD Job Vacancy In-depth knowledge of instrumentation (Mesoscale, various flow cytometers) and flow cytometric software.
- Familiarity with laboratory work and knowledge of laboratory management, supplies ordering/procurement with training and use of the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS), Electronic Centralized Acquisition Tool (ECAT), and Medical Master Catalog (MMC) systems, Design and validation parameters for ELISA assay development and testing.
Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.

- Act as an expert to ensure the conduct of studies leading up to clinical trials
- Responsible for immunological evaluation of vaccines in pre-clinical models (mice and other high-order species) and Phase 1 vaccine trials;
- Conduct applied research in vaccine development in support of the Malaria Structural Vaccinology Lab;
- Research and execute novel technologies in the field of molecular biology, protein biochemistry and GMP process development; and provide parasite culture and immunological assay related services.
