Job Posting: Associate Scientist, Cell & Gene Technical Development

Reporting to: Senior Scientist, Cell and Gene Technical Development
This is an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified candidate to join Orchard Therapeutics’ Cell Process Development team, working on the development, manufacture, and delivery of innovative gene-modified cell-based therapeutic products.
Responsibilities:
- Involvement in experiments for process development and characterization of HSC-based gene modified cell processes
- Support the process development team with routine processes, analytics and data analysis
- Design and perform experiments, data analysis and prepare reports for regulatory submissions
- Assist in compilation, review and approval of batch records, standard operating procedures, and reports
- Participate in lab management duties, stock management, and equipment maintenance
Requirements:
- BSc in biotechnology/biological sciences or equivalent experience
- Practical laboratory experience in cell culture, transduction, and related analytical methods
- Expertise and understanding of gene therapy vectors and gene modified cellular therapies
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, industrial environment
Education: Minimum BSc or equivalent in bioprocessing, biological sciences, gene therapy
Skills: Outstanding organizational skills, great communication, creative problem solver
Note: This job is fully lab-based and requires onsite presence at Orchard’s London Hammersmith site daily.
