The R&D department focuses on developing inactivated, live, and genetically modified vaccines, particularly for the swine industry. You will collaborate with a team of experts in virology, biotechnology, microbiology, immunology, and veterinary medicine to drive innovation and scientific advancement.
Your internship assignment
As an intern, you will play a vital role in developing immunological detection tools for porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV). Your responsibilities will involve characterizing monoclonal antibodies and conducting various assays to support the development of new and improved PRRS vaccines.
Your responsibilities include:
- Planning and executing different detection techniques
- Conducting cell culture experiments
- Providing insights and opinions to contribute to the team’s success
- Presenting and documenting work professionally
These tasks, once mastered, will allow you to work independently and potentially lead other projects that align with the organization’s objectives.
What is required
- Final year HBO student in Life Sciences
- Knowledge in virology, molecular biology, and biochemical assays
- Strong English communication skills
- Available for a 5 to 6-month internship, full-time
