Job Description:
As a Scientist in In Vivo Preclinical Pharmacology, you will join our Genetic Medicine team at the Lilly Innovation Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Your role will involve collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to aid in the development of RNA oligonucleotide drug candidates for the next generation of RNA therapies. With a strong research track record in biology and a passion for data-driven decision-making, you will play a pivotal role in the preclinical characterization and evaluation of novel therapeutic molecules.
Key Responsibilities:MS Biology Scientist Jobs
- Design and plan in vivo experiments to support preclinical characterization and evaluation of therapeutic molecules.
- Perform rodent handling and dosing, including injections such as subcutaneous, intravenous, and intraperitoneal.
- Conduct small animal stereotaxic surgeries for injections in rodents.
- Dissect CNS tissues, collect bodily fluids, and process samples for analysis.
- Support technology development for enhanced delivery of therapeutics to specific regions of the central nervous system.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical challenges and provide scientific input to project teams.
- Design and complete experiments, perform data analysis and communicate results to scientific teams and management.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Basic Qualifications:MS Biology Scientist Jobs
- B.S. and/or M.S. in biology, neuroscience, or related field
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Experience in developing and working with neuroscience-relevant in vivo models and assays
- Hands-on experience in primary neuron culture
- Proficiency in designing and executing in vivo pharmacological experiments
- Extensive knowledge of drug delivery techniques in key CNS regions
- Expertise in CSF/plasma collection, CNS tissue dissection, and processing
- Strong understanding of brain and spinal cord anatomy
- Ability to adapt and demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic working environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking
- Proficiency in data analysis and Microsoft Office
