Labcorp is seeking a qualified Bioinformatics Scientist to join our team in Westborough, Massachusetts, United States of America. As a Bioinformatics Scientist, you will play a key role in leveraging computational approaches to enhance clinical testing and develop diagnostic tools for improving human health.
Job Description
The qualified applicant will apply a wide range of computational approaches and integrate various data sources for clinical testing. Examples include copy number analysis, structural variant detection, non-coding regulatory variant analysis, and applying deep learning and data mining for biological insights.
Job Details
- Set up in-house/cloud computing environment
- Compile relevant data from public sources and Labcorp proprietary data
- Configure, set up, refine, train and test data analysis pipeline
- Document results in a report and present to Labcorp scientists
Education and Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree in computer science, bioinformatics or related discipline
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in AI/ML, Python, Java, R, or Perl
- Familiarity with machine learning and cloud computing
Experience
- Programming experience in AI/ML, Python, Java, R, or Perl
- Basic understanding of genomics, database systems, and biology
