GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The Gladyshev Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst I to join our team. The successful candidate will be involved in developing computational and statistical methods for testing biological hypotheses, analyzing large-scale data, and interpreting omics, image, and patient datasets.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Generating and testing hypotheses related to aging, longevity, and rejuvenation.
2. Collaborating with PI to establish and modify techniques.
3. Contributing to large-scale projects.
4. Performing quality control of omics datasets.
5. Statistical analysis of single-cell and single-nuclear datasets.
6. Using computational tools to identify mechanisms of aging and lifespan control.
7. Executing quality control protocols on generated and public datasets.
8. Submitting data to databases.
9. Interrogating patient databases using natural language processing.
10. Curating and organizing data.
11. Calculating and analyzing data using advanced statistical techniques.
12. Troubleshooting, cloud computing, and storage systems.
13. Coordinating tests and procedures.
14. Performing other assigned duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in statistics, computer science, bioinformatics, or related disciplines preferred.

SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

• Demonstrated skills in programming languages.
• Prior experience with big data is a plus.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to structure tasks logically and set priorities effectively.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Data analysis and presentation ability.
