Job Title: Computational Biologist
The Computational Biologist at Bayer is responsible for evaluating therapeutic hypotheses through integration and quantitative analyses of internal & external multi-omics data sources, including DNA, RNA, CRISPR, ChIP-seq, methylation, and proteomics. This role involves making significant contributions to innovative research and development projects or collaborations, identifying targets, assessing disease biology, proposing biomarkers, and supporting therapeutic lifecycle management.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and contextualize molecular evidence supporting a therapeutic hypothesis with multi-omics data.
- Design and interpret complex quantitative analyses for precision drug development.
- Contribute to scientific strategy and critical path objectives of Product Teams.
- Deliver insights on therapeutic assets and disease biology to aid decision-making.
- Develop and apply Best Practices for the execution and interpretation of multi-omics data.
- Build cross-functional relationships to collaborate effectively within Pharma R&D.
Who You Are:
Bayer is looking for an incumbent with the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- PhD degree in Life Sciences with a strong computational focus.
- Experience in statistical analysis of DNA-seq, RNA-seq, proteomics, etc., using programming environments like R or Python.
- Demonstrated expertise in computational biology with peer-reviewed publications.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Learning agility and continuous improvement mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years industry experience in drug development or biotech role applying multi-omics data analyses.
