Job Summary
Serve as research technician for conducting basic to moderately complex molecular biology assays to support pre-clinical safety and toxicity studies. Perform DNA/RNA purification and quantitation, qPCR, qRT-PCR, etc., in compliance with SOPs and GLP regulations. Collaborate with scientific staff to develop new methods and conduct assay validation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine molecular biology techniques.
- Assist in preparing study data tables.
- Work on new methods development and validation experiments.
- Maintain study notebooks and ensure timely submission for audit.
- Review documentation of functions performed by peers for quality control.
- Respond to internal Quality Assurance audits.
- Collect and document research data according to regulations and protocols.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Maintain clean work areas.
Job Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related discipline.
- Experience: 0-2 years related experience in biology or chemistry/pharmacy.
- Certification/Licensure: None required.
- Ability to carry out standard laboratory calculations and follow regulations.
Physical Demands
The position includes lifting heavy objects, standing or sitting for extended periods, and working with safety equipment.
Work Environment
Work involves handling sharp objects, chemicals, and biological hazards. Protective clothing and safety equipment are required.
Comments
Overtime, weekend, holiday, and after-hours coverage may be required.
The pay range for this position is between $25.00 and $26.00 an hour. Please note that salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
