Job Description
The Day laboratory in the Dept. of Biological Sciences at Ohio University seeks a lab technician. Our research involves measuring single-neuron electrical potentials in auditory areas of the brain in response to sound. The main duties of the lab technician will be: collecting electrophysiological data from rabbits during daily experiments; assisting with sterile surgical procedures on rabbits; giving rabbits post-procedural care; and managing and ordering laboratory supplies. Additional duties will include: creating microscopic slides of brain sections for histological analysis; and training undergraduate researchers. Possible duties may include: constructing an experimental apparatus for animal behavioral testing; and training rabbits on behavioral tasks.

Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering Department Biological Sciences
Pay Rate
Minimum hourly rate $12.99. Pay is commensurate with education and experience.
