Job Summary
The Scientist in Exploratory R&D at BioLegend will be responsible for process development and improvement. This role involves optimizing and troubleshooting cell culture processes, establishing consistent methods for primary cells, hybridoma cell lines, and other relevant cell types, as well as supporting new product development for cell culture applications.
Essential Functions
- Design and conduct experiments.
- Troubleshoot and conduct process improvements of hybridoma in coordination with R&D, Product Development, and Manufacturing cell culture teams.
- Develop scaling procedures that address cost, time, and quality for bioreactors.
- Create ISO-compliant documentation and train the team on new processes.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with various teams.

Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience
- B.S. with generally more than 12 yrs of relevant experience
- M.S. with generally more than 6 yrs of relevant working experience
- Ph.D. with generally 0-2 years of post-doctoral training or relevant working experiences
Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience
- Master’s Degree and 6 years of relevant experience
- PhD in the sciences with 2 year’s relevant experience, preferably in immunology, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical field
- Experience in process development and optimization for primary cell culture
Compensation
The base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 -$90,000.
