Position: 2025 Summer Intern – Bioconjugation (Protein Sciences)
Department Summary
The Bioconjugation and Delivery group at Genentech’s Protein Sciences organization is responsible for designing and generating new therapeutic modalities that integrate multiple scientific disciplines. We are looking for a graduate student-level intern to join our team in the summer of 2024, focusing on bioconjugation and bioanalytical techniques.
Position Overview
- Bioconjugation of proteins, including reaction setup, monitoring, and optimization.
- Purification of bioconjugates using common protein purification techniques.
- Bioanalysis using chromatographic techniques and mass spectrometry.
- Collaboration with scientists across functional and therapeutic areas.
- Data communication to a diverse audience, including a company-wide poster session.
Program Highlights
- 12-week full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship in South San Francisco.
- Start dates in May/June (Summer).

Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher, or currently pursuing a Master’s Degree or PhD in Chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, biology, biomedical engineering, or related fields.
Skills: Basic understanding of protein analytical techniques, experience with FPLC, HPLC, or LCMS, and strong communication and collaboration skills.
