About the Job
The Infectious Diseases & Vaccines (IDV) group, supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, collaborates with leading academic institutions globally on various infectious disease projects. The group’s work focuses on diseases such as syphilis, malaria, HIV, influenza, and antimicrobial-resistant bacteria.
We are seeking a Research Scientist with a PhD or equivalent background to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in protein biochemistry, in vitro assay development, and monoclonal antibody research. This role involves contributing to the development of antibody-based therapies and the evaluation of new vaccines for significant global infections.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide scientific and technical support to infectious disease projects within the IDV portfolio.
- Conduct monoclonal antibody in vitro functional assays and high-throughput SPR screening.
- Design and execute experiments, troubleshoot issues, and analyze data.
- Maintain accurate experiment records and present results internally and externally.
- Author study reports for stakeholders.
Qualifications
- PhD or equivalent research experience in academia or biopharmaceutical industry.
- Experience with in vitro functional assays and monoclonal antibody screening.
- Knowledge or exposure to surface plasmon resonance and/or flow cytometry.
- Strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and data analysis skills.
