Job Summary:
The Broichhagen Lab (Section Chemical Biology: website) and the Roderer Lab (Section Structural Biology; website) are looking for a joint post-doctoral fellow in chemical biology for new applications in cryo correlative light and electron microscopy and cryo-electron tomography. The project aims to unleash the potential of chemical synthesis for specific protein labeling with custom-tailored dyes to elucidate protein structures in cellulose. Our teams work at the interface of organic chemistry, chemical and structural biology and we aim to expand our interdisciplinarity in the future. The position is funded and is to be filled in Q1 of 2024, and is initially limited to 1 year.

We seek highly motivated, ambitious, and talented young scientists to join an enthusiastic and collaborative team in an outstanding scientific environment.
- Successful postdoc applicants will hold a Ph.D. in Biochemistry or Chemical Biology, ideally in combination with structural biology (cryo-EM, cryo-ET, and/or X-ray crystallography), cell biology and microscopic imaging (fluorescent confocal spinning disc, widefield, STED and CLEM) and have a strong track record of accomplishments.

- All applicants are expected to benefit from excellent written and oral communication skills and display a high personal motivation to excel in science.
- The working language is English.
