What we are looking for
Senior Research Scientist – Protoplast expert (Permanent position; CDI)
We are seeking a researcher to join our “Innovation team” to manage our R&D pipeline related to protoplast manipulation and provide support and technical leadership in the development of improved coffee varieties. The successful candidate will have an extensive knowledge of plant biotechnology, experience in managing small-medium size teams and the ability to independently plan, organize, troubleshoot and optimize operations to ensure timely high-quality deliverables.
This position reports directly to our CTO and also needs to work effectively and collaboratively with the
“Coffee Cell Culture team” and the “Plant Genomics team”.
Qualifications and key skills
● PhD in plant science or plant biotechnology
● 5+ years of experience in plant-cell culture
● Excellent knowledge in plant protoplast manipulation (isolation, recovery, regeneration …) ideally on coffee or other woody plants (cocoa, citrus, grapevine …)
● Flow cytometry experience is a plus
● Management and supervision experience
● Good organization & communication
● Team player, strong execution, and flexibility to handle changes

Senior Research Scienst – Plant genomic expert (Permanent posion; CDI)
We are seeking a researcher to join our “Plant Genomics team” to manage our R&D pipeline related to molecular biology & NGS and provide support and technical leadership in the development of improved coffee variees. The successful candidate will have an extensive knowledge of molecular biology, experience in managing small-medium size teams and the ability to independently plan, organize, troubleshoot and opmize operaons to ensure mely high-quality deliverables.
This posion reports directly to our CTO and also needs to work effecvely and collaboravely with the “Coffee Cell Culture team” and the “Innovaon team”.
Qualificaons and key skills
● PhD in plant molecular biology
● 5+ years of experience in molecular biology and NGS
● Strong molecular biology understanding and hands-on experience including but not limited to various PCR applicaons, primer design, qRT-PCR …
● Strong experience on NGS library preparaon (amplicon-seq, WGS)
● Experience working with Illumina NGS plaorms – experimental design, opmizaon and data
analysis
● Genomic analysis experience & knowledge about plant metabolic biosynthec genes are a
plus
● Management and supervision experience
● Good organizaon & communicaon
● Team player, strong execuon, and flexibility to handle changes
