Department Summary
The Department of Discovery Oncology is seeking a talented and motivated summer intern to join the biology research efforts to identify and characterize the next generation of oncology targets. In this role, the candidate will use cell biology and in vitro biochemistry techniques to mechanistically dissect the molecular pathways conferring cancer dependency.
Key Responsibilities
- Work together with other scientists in the group to design and execute experiments using cell culture or in vitro biochemistry techniques
- Keep detailed records of the research findings using an electronic notebook
- Communicate and present results to a diverse group of scientists during internal meetings
Program Highlights
- Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship
- Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)
- A stipend will be provided based on location
- Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects

Who You Are (Required)
- Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:
- Must be pursuing a Master’s Degree (enrolled student)
- Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)
- Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and related
Required skills:
Hands-on research experience in cell biology/biochemistry/molecular biology lab environment is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in advanced cell culture techniques such as RNAi, cell line engineering using CRISPR/Cas9 or PiggyBac transposase systems
- Experience with biochemical techniques such as protein purification and in vitro reconstitution experiments is a plus
Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.
The expected salary range for this position, based on the primary location of California, is $35-$45 per hour.
